St. Joseph Parish has a strong devotional life.

  • The rosary is prayed before most Masses.
  • The rosary and divine mercy chaplet are recited Thursdays following the morning Mass.
  • The St. Michael prayer is recited following most Masses.
  • Each Wednesday following morning Mass, the litany of St. Joseph is recited.
  • On first Fridays there is Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
  • First Saturday Masses alternate with St. George in Linn: St. Joseph has odd-numbered months at 8:00am, St. George has even-numbered months at 8:00am, with confessions beforehand

We observe traditional customs throughout the liturgical year, such as:

  • Blessing of pets on or around October 4 for the feast of St. Francis of Assisi
  • Procession to the cemetery and blessing of graves on All Souls Day (November 2)
  • Blessing of chalk on Epiphany
  • Blessing of candles on February 2
  • Blessing of throats on the feast of St. Blaise (February 3)
  • St. Joseph’s table (March 19)
  • Mothers’ Mass on September 8

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

The Blessed Sacrament is solemnly exposed and the church open for adoration each first Friday from 8:30am through 6:30am the following Saturday.

The sign-up sheet is available at the church entrance for a week or two before first Friday.
